Tour Overview:
The tour departs every Thursday morning and Sunday morning
- Start from Hanoi by bus in the morning at around 06:30
- 1 night in the homestay in the villages
- Visit the most exciting places around Sapa by car and walking
- Places to visit: Hau Chu Ngai, Hang Da, Hau Thao, Lao Chai, Ta Van, Giang Ta Chai.
Detailed Itineraries
Day 1: Sapa – Hang Da – Hau Chu Ngai – Hau Thao – Ta Van (L, D)
Pick up at Sa pa bus station around 1:30 p.m. by Taxi to Cat Cat View Hotel.
It’s time to refresh and have lunch at the hotel restaurant.
After breakfast, depart from Sapa with a short road transfer along the national road 4D nearly 5 km northwestwards to the starting of the walking path, then follow a large and rocky path gradually uphill for 2 hours along the narrow valley which runs between two high mountains to Sa Seng Village. The Hmong people here have recently changed from a sifting style to a sedentary one. So there are still a lot of traces of the past that can be seen: Rudimentary houses, stone walls around homes…
In the afternoon, continue along the same trail gradually uphill the Den Thang mountain for an hour to Hang Da Village of the Hmong which sits at 1,800m height and over looking down the Muong Hoa Valley. Paying visit to several local homes.
Leaving Hang Da and enjoy an easy walk on a high elevation for ½ hour and the trail gets steeper and narrower downhill for nearly 2 hours through Hau Chu Ngai, then onto Thao Hong Den Village which consists of some small hamlets scattered on rocky land.
This portion of the trek offers chances for taking the best photos of landscapes. Arriving at the center of Hau Thao Commune at about 04.30 pm. Continue trekking to Ta Van village where you will sleep in a homestay of Giay people. Have dinner and relax.
Day 2: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Sapa (B, L)
Enjoy the dawn and fresh air in the village, and have a nice breakfast served by the house owner. Start the trek by climbing the mountain on a small trail near the waterfall.
Stop for a while to take photos on top of the waterfall. The trek will lead you through the bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Zao people.
Have lunch in a local house near the Muong Hoa river bank.

In the afternoon, continue walking up the main road, and you will return to Sapa town by car.
Arriving Cat Cat View Hotel in Sapa. The rest of the time at leisure.
Take a bus to Hanoi around 16:00.
